Z Gallery Arts is a Canadian-founded international arts organization based in Vancouver, shaped by ceramics, curatorial practice, artist-led education, workshops, and residencies.
Founded in Vancouver in 2016, it began as a gallery and curatorial space for contemporary art and ceramics. Today, Z Gallery Arts brings together exhibitions, artist-led workshops, residencies, and intimate studio learning for people who want to work seriously with form, surface, place, and time.
At the centre of the programme is a belief that art is not rushed. It is built through attention: the hand returning to the same gesture, the eye learning proportion, the body understanding weight, the mind staying long enough for something real to appear.
Our workshops and residencies invite artists, makers, and creative practitioners into focused environments where material knowledge can deepen. Ceramics remains central, while the wider programme welcomes sculpture, drawing, painting, writing, AI and art, and other material-based or interdisciplinary practices.
As part of its international residency programme, Z Gallery Arts offers one annual International Artist Residency Fellowship. The fellowship supports a selected artist with a fee-waived one-month residency in Porto Heli, Peloponnese, Greece, and is designed for artists whose practice would benefit from focused time, creative research, and immersion in the cultural landscape of the Peloponnese.
